- Melt the butter or margarine, uncovered, on Defrost for 2 - 3 minutes. Gently beat in the remaining ingredients.
- Quarter each head of fennel and place in a deep 25 cm / 10 in diameter dish.
- Coat with the butter mixture. Cover with a plate and cook on Full for 22 minutes, turning the dish 3 times.
- Allow to stand for 6 minutes before serving.

- 1 kg fennel, washed, dried and brown areas discarded
- 50 grams butter or margarine
- 2 teaspoons French mustard
- 2 tablespoons medium-dry sherry
- Salt to taste
- ½ teaspoon dried tarragon
