Preparation Method :
- Sprinkle the beef with the flour. Season with salt and pepper. Heat the oil in a large heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat.
- Add the beef in small batches and sauté until browned all over, 10 minutes.
- Add the onion, potatoes, carrots, and rutabaga and sauté over medium heat until lightly browned, 8-10 minutes.
- Pour in the stock. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer over low heat until the meat is very tender, 2 hours. Serve hot.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 kg stew beef, cut into small chunks
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose (plain) flour
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 100 ml sesame oil
- 2 large onion, coarsely chopped
- 6 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 4 large carrots, coarsely chopped
- 1 rutabaga turnip, peeled and coarsely chopped
- 500 ml beef stock
