- Mix together the ingredients for the marinade in a dish. Add the beef and leave to marinate while preparing the broccoli.
- Separate the broccoli into florets and slice the stems diagonally. Place in a pan of boiling salted water and cook for 1 minute. Drain and rinse with cold water.
- Heat the oil in a pan. Add the garlic and ginger and stir-fry for a few seconds. Add the beef and stir-fry until brown. Add the broccoli, sugar and soy sauce or oyster sauce. Stir-fry for 1 minute.
- Serve hot with plain boiled rice or noodles.
