NAVY BEAN SOUP

1 hour

Cooking Time :
30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Soak the beans with boiling water for 1 -2 hours.
  • Simmer ham bone or hocks with the beans until beans are tender.
  • Remove bones and chop ham.
  • Add onions and celery, ham meat, salt, and pepper to the beans.
  • Now add water and cook for 20 -30 minutes longer.
  • Serve it hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 gram navy beans
  • 1 litre boiling water
  • 1 ham hocks or a meaty ham bone
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 1 stalk of celery (chopped)
  • Salt and pepper as per taste
