PUMPKIN PECAN PIE

Preparation Time :
20 minutes

Cooking Time :
1 hour 20 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Combine eggs, sugars, flour, spices and salt and pumpkin.
  • Gently stir in milk and mix well.
  • Pour into pie shell and bake at 230 degrees C for 10 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to 175 degrees C and bake 40 to 50 minutes longer.
  • Keep aside 40 grams of pecan for topping and add the remaining pecan mixture over pie.
  • Make the Topping by combining 2 tablespoons butter, grated orange rind, brown sugar and whole pecans.
  • Remove the pie shell from the oven and allow it to cool.
  • Serve it after adding the topping. 

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 egg
  • 50 grams  white sugar
  • 100 gram brown sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (ground)
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (ground)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger (ground)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 500 ml pumpkin puree
  • 200 ml sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 tablespoon orange zest
  • 100 gram pecan halves
