SPICED RED CABBAGE

Preparation Time :
20 minutes

Cooking Time :
40 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Place the cabbage in a flameproof casserole and arrange the apple and onion slices on top.
  • Add the vinegar and sprinkle over the mixed spice.
  • Add just enough water to cover the cabbage completely.
  • Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for about 30 minutes.
  • Serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 red cabbage, trimmed and sliced
  • 2 large cooking apple, peeled, cored and thickly sliced
  • 2 onion, peeled and sliced
  • 500 ml wine vinegar
  • 2 teaspoon mixed spice
