BROCCOLI AU GRATIN

Preparation Method :

  • Place the onion, pepper and broccoli in a saucepan of boiling water.
  • Cover and cook for about 15 minutes until tender.
  • Mix the corn flour with the skimmed milk. Pour into a saucepan and heat gently, stirring.
  • Add cheese and, when thickened, add the nutmeg and salt and pepper to taste.
  • Transfer the drained broccoli and pepper mixture to a heated gratin dish and pour over the sauce.
  • Sprinkle with the remaining cheese and place under a hot grill until the cheese melts.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 medium sized onion, peeled and sliced
  • 2 green pepper, cored, deseeded and sliced
  • 1 ½ kg broccoli
  • 4 tablespoons corn flour
  • 1 liter skimmed milk
  • 200 grams Cheddar cheese, grated
  • Pinch of grated nutmeg
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
