OLD-FASHIONED STEAK AND MUSHROOMS
This may be a bit old fashioned but still its taste will explode in your tongue. The tender taste of steak with the butter will make your mouth more watery. The mushroom however will add up the spice on the steak. This old fashioned steak and mushrooms is best serve with mashed potatoes and green vegetables.

Preparation Method :
- Remove any fat and gristle from the meat and cut into bite-size pieces. Toss the meat in the flour, shaking off any surplus.
- Heat the butter in a heavy flameproof casserole or pan and fry the onion until soft. Add the meat and brown over a medium heat.
- Add the mushrooms and cook for 1 minute. Season with salt and pepper to taste, add the herbs and pour in enough stock or water to come just to the top of the meat.
- Cover tightly and simmer for about 2 hours until the meat is very tender.
- Serve half of the steak and mushrooms with mashed potatoes and green vegetables.
- Use the rest to make a pie.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 kilograms stewing steak
- 3-4 tablespoons plain flour
- 100 grams butter
- 2 onion, chopped
- 500 grams mushrooms
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
- 2 tablespoon chopped fresh mixed or 1 teaspoon dried herbs beef stock or water to cover
