BRAISED STEAK & SHALLOTS IN WILD MUSHROOM & GINGER SAUCE

Braised steak & shallots in wild mushroom and ginger sauce – Great dish for all! It totally combined with perfect ingredients that really match for the whole family. With its mixed wild mushroom and ginger sauce, everyone is delighted to taste its appetizing flavorings.

2 hours 30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 2/150°C/300°F.
  • Heat the oil in a large frying pan.
  • Coat the meat in the seasoned flour and brown it all over, cooking it for about 5 minutes.
  • Lift it into a large, deep ovenproof casserole.
  • 05Slowly fry the shallots and mushrooms in the steak juices. Add the beef stock, Worcester sauce, honey and fresh ginger.
  • Taste, then season with salt and pepper.
  • Pour the sauce over the steak, cover the casserole tightly with a lid or cooking foil, place in the centre of the oven and cook for 2 hours until the meat turns tender.
  • Add the yoghurt, cook for a further 10 minutes, and serve.

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 900 grams braising steak (fat and gristle removed), diced
  • 50 grams seasoned flour
  • 450 grams (peeled weight) shallots, sliced
  • 500 grams wild mushrooms, roughly chopped
  • 250 ml Basic Beef Stock
  • 2 tablespoons Worcester sauce
  • 1 tablespoon clear honey
  • 2 tablespoons grated fresh root ginger
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
  • 150 ml plain yoghurt
