Preparation Method :
- Put the okra into a bowl, sprinkle over the water and stir to just moisten.
- Put the cornmeal, flour, salt and pepper to taste into a bowl and mix. Add the okra slices and tilt till okra is lightly coated.
- Heat the oil in a deep skillet or pan, when hot add the okra slices in batches.
- Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 2 minutes or until the okra is bright green and the cornmeal coating is golden yellow.
- Remove the okra from the oil and drain on paper towels. Cook the remaining okra. Serve hot as a snack.

- 500 grams fresh okra, trimmed and cut into thick slices
- 50 grams all-purpose flour
- 75 ml tablespoon water
- 75 grams yellow cornmeal
- Peanut oil, for deep-frying
- Salt and pepper, to taste
