HAM AND RICE ROLLS

Preparation Method :

  • Spread the ham slices lightly with mustard. Combine the rice, raisins, egg, celery and basil and divide equally between the ham slices. Roll up and secure with wooden cocktail sticks (toothpicks).
  • Place the rolls, seam side down, in a small shallow greased baking dish. Heat the cheese and cream or evaporated milk in a small pan until the cheese melts.
  • Spoon the sauce over the rolls and cook in a preheated moderate oven (180°C/350°F, Gas Mark 4) for 20 minutes.

INGREDIENTS

  • 8 thin slices cooked ham 
  • Dijon mustard 
  • 100 grams rice, cooked 
  • 50 gram raisins, chopped
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 stick celery, finely chopped 
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil 
  • 50 grams Cheddar cheese, grated 
  • 250 ml single cream or evaporated milk
