SMOKED FISH CHOWDER

Preparation Time :
15 minutes

Cooking Time :
20 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Reserve the liquid in pan, lift out fish, flake and set it aside, discard bones and skin.
  • Add potatoes, carrots and peas to reserved liquid in pan and simmer to low flame. Cook, covered, until tender.
  • In a separate pan fry the bacon and onion until golden. Stir it to the vegetables with fish till combine.
  • Heat the milk or milk and cream in a separate pan, add to the soup and reheat gently without boiling.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 ml milk
  • 500 grams smoked cod or haddock,  Poached
  • 450 ml  water
  • 2 potatoes, diced
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 75 grams frozen green peas
  • 2 rashers bacon, diced
  • 7 onion, chopped
