Preparation Method :
- Heat the oil in a heavy-based pan and fry the whole spices for about half a minute. Tip in the prawns and fry for about 2-3 minutes. Remove the prawns with a slotted spoon and set aside.
- Add the onion paste to the pan and sauté for 5 minutes stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat, mix in the ground spices and the prawns.
- Adjust seasoning with black pepper and salt. Return to the heat and add half a cup of water, the green chilli and the coconut milk. Cook for a minute or two without boiling.
- Serve with Basmati Rice.
INGREDIENTS
- 250 ml coconut milk
- 50 ml Cooking oil
- 1 whole green chilli
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

- 2 inch cinnamon stick
Ground Spices
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon chilli powder
- ½ teaspoon garam masala
- ½ teaspoon ginger
Onion Paste - Ground to Coarse Paste
- 1 inch piece of ginger
- 3-4 garlic cloves
- 100 grams onion, roughly chopped
