QUAIL BALTI

Cooking Time :
30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a Balti pan, wok or large frying pan over a medium heat.
  • Add the onions and garlic and cook for 10 minutes until golden brown.
  • Add the ginger, chillies and tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes, then add the Balti spice mix and a little water.
  • Add the quails and cook for 10 minutes, turning frequently.
  • Add water, cover and simmer for 8-10 minutes. Stir in the coriander and serve, sprinkled with garam masala. 

INGREDIENTS

  • 10 quails, skin on, cut in half lengthways
  • 100 ml sesame oil
  • 4 small onions, chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 3 cm cube fresh root ginger, grated
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped 4 tomatoes, skinned and chopped
  • 6 teaspoon Balti spice mix
  • Fresh coriander, chopped
  • 2 teaspoon Balti garam masala
