Preparation Method :
- Heat the oil in a Balti pan, wok or large frying pan over a medium heat.
- Add the onions and garlic and cook for 10 minutes until golden brown.
- Add the ginger, chillies and tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes, then add the Balti spice mix and a little water.
- Add the quails and cook for 10 minutes, turning frequently.
- Add water, cover and simmer for 8-10 minutes. Stir in the coriander and serve, sprinkled with garam masala.
INGREDIENTS
- 10 quails, skin on, cut in half lengthways
- 100 ml sesame oil
- 4 small onions, chopped
- 5 cloves garlic, crushed
- 3 cm cube fresh root ginger, grated
- 2 green chillies, finely chopped 4 tomatoes, skinned and chopped
- 6 teaspoon Balti spice mix
- Fresh coriander, chopped
- 2 teaspoon Balti garam masala
