THE STEAMED FISH

Preparation Time :

Cooking Time :
45 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Beat the curd and add all the ingredients to it and mix well. Cover the fish with this curd mixture inside as well as outside. Wrap it in a large banana leaf and secure with string.
  • Put the fish in a pan and cover tightly. Heat water in another larger pan and put the pan into it. Steam covered for about 30-45 minutes.
  • Serve hot garnished with onion rings and lemon wedges.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams Fish, cleaned and scales removed
  • 250 grams Thick curd 
  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder 
  • Onion, cut into rings to garnish
  • Lemon wedges to garnish
  • Chilli powder, to taste 
  • Salt to taste

Grind to a fine paste

  • Green chillies, to taste 
  • 2 tablespoon Coriander leaves
