HILSA FISH

Preparation Method :

  • Marinate the fish with salt and turmeric powder for about half an hour. Wash thoroughly and drain.
  • Add tomatoes, milk and a tablespoon of oil to the ground masala paste. Add the drained fish pieces and mix well, marinate for an hour.
  • Heat the remaining oil in a large pan, add the fish pieces along with the marinade, salt to taste and slit green chillies. Cook on a low flame till the fish is tender.

INGREDIENTS

  • 750 grams Hilsa fish pieces, cleaned and rinsed
  • 2 Tomatoes finely chopped
  • 200 ml Milk    
  • 6 Green chillies, slit lengthwise
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 75 ml Cooking oil
  • Salt to taste

Grind to a fine paste

  • 150 grams Onion    
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1 pod Garlic    
  • 1 " piece Ginger    
  • 2-3 Green chillies
