PATRANI MACHHI

Preparation Method :

  • Marinate the fish fillets in vinegar, lemon juice and salt for 30 minutes.
  • Trim, wash and wipe the banana leaves.
  • Blend all the ingredients for the green chutney with a little water in a blender to make a fine paste.
  • Apply this paste liberally on the fish fillets.
  • Oil the banana leaves and wrap each fillet separately in them. Alternately, wrap each fillet in foil.
  • Steam the fish in a steamer for 10-12 minutes.
  • Unwrap the fish, arrange on a platter and serve, garnished with lemon wedges and coriander sprigs.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 kg Fish fillets 
  • 5 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 100 ml Malt vinegar 
  • 2 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Banana leaves or aluminium foil
  • 50 grams Coriander seeds
  • 3 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 100 grams Fresh coconut, grated
  • 4 teaspoon Garlic 
  • 6 Green chillies
  • 3 teaspoon Green coriander , chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
