FRIED FISH FILLETS

Preparation Method :

  • Marinate the fish with salt and two-thirds of the vinegar and keep aside for 1-2 hours.
  • Mix in all the ingredients with the ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, vinegar and salt. Whisk to a smooth and creamy batter.
  • Coat each piece of fish evenly with the batter.
  • Arrange the fillets on a flat tray and keep aside for 1 hour.
  • Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan. Shallow fry the fish on medium heat till crisp and golden.
  • Drain excess oil on a kitchen towel and sprinkle chaat masala.
  • Serve hot, garnished with slices of cucumber, tomato and lemon wedges.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 kg Fish (steaks / fillets), without bones, Cleaned, washed and dried
  • Salt for seasoning
  • 50 ml White vinegar 
  • 2 teaspoon Carom seeds
  • 120 grams Gram flour 
  • 2 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoon White pepper powder
  • 3 tablespoon Ginger paste 
  • 3 tablespoon Garlic paste
  • 3 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 175 ml Cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoon Chaat masala
