Preparation Method :
- Marinate the fish with salt and two-thirds of the vinegar and keep aside for 1-2 hours.
- Mix in all the ingredients with the ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, vinegar and salt. Whisk to a smooth and creamy batter.
- Coat each piece of fish evenly with the batter.
- Arrange the fillets on a flat tray and keep aside for 1 hour.
- Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan. Shallow fry the fish on medium heat till crisp and golden.
- Drain excess oil on a kitchen towel and sprinkle chaat masala.
- Serve hot, garnished with slices of cucumber, tomato and lemon wedges.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 kg Fish (steaks / fillets), without bones, Cleaned, washed and dried
- Salt for seasoning
- 50 ml White vinegar
- 2 teaspoon Carom seeds
- 120 grams Gram flour
- 2 teaspoon Red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 2 teaspoon White pepper powder
- 3 tablespoon Ginger paste
- 3 tablespoon Garlic paste
- 3 tablespoon Lemon juice
- 175 ml Cooking oil
- 1 teaspoon Chaat masala
