Preparation Method :
- Dip the pieces of cod into the batter carefully, coat all over. Gently shake off any excess batter.
- Heat the oil in a heavy-based frying-pan. Fry the cod in batches, over a medium heat, turning once, until cooked through and golden.
- Transfer the battered cod to a serving dish and garnish with lemon wedges and green chillies. Serve with cooked rice.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 kg cod, cut into 8 pieces
- 250 ml Cooking oil
- Cooked rice, to serve
To Garnish
- 2 lemons, cut into wedges
- 6 green chillies, slit down the middle
- Semi-Thick Batter
- 250 ml water
- 1½ inch fresh ginger root, finely chopped
- 90 grams gram flour
- 4-6 fresh garlic cloves, crushed
- Chilli powder and salt, to taste
- ½ teaspoon turmeric
- 2-3 fresh green chillies, chopped
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
