FISH WRAPPED IN BANANA LEAF

Fish Wrapped in Banana Leaf includes an eight-sole fillet, salt, vegetable oil, dry sherry, spring onion, root ginger and vegetable oil! No wonder you’ll be craving for more because of its delicious taste! Never will you have any doubt in mind once you’ve tasted for it!

30 minutes

Cooking Time :
45 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Cut the fish fillets into 1 inch squares. Sprinkle with salt and toss in the sherry.
  • Cut out the banana leaf and brush with the oil. Place a piece of fish on each square of leaf and arrange some spring onion and ginger on top. Fold into envelopes, tucking in the flaps to secure.
  • Heat the oil in a wok. Deep-fry the wrapped fish for 3 minutes.
  • Drain on kitchen paper and arrange on a warmed serving dish. Garnish with spring onion flowers and serve immediately.
  • Each person unwraps his own parcel.

INGREDIENTS

  • 8 plaice or sole fillets, each weighing 200 grams 
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 tablespoons dry sherry
  • 2 tablespoon Cooking oil 
  • 4 tablespoons shredded spring onion
  • 4 tablespoons shredded root ginger 
  • Cooking oil for deep-frying 

Garnish

  • Spring onion flowers
