Preparation Method :
- Boil together the potato, brinjal in a little water. Mash the vegetables well with banana and keep aside.
- Heat the oil in a pan, add the mustard seeds. When they crackle, add curry leaves, black gram and fry till the gram turns golden.
- Add the onion, green chillies, coriander powder and mix well. Then add the mashed vegetables and salt.
- Add the coconut milk and bring the mixture to a boil. Add the fish pieces and cook till tender. Stir in the lemon juice.
- Remove from flame and serve with steamed rice.
INGREDIENTS
- 750 grams Surmai fish, cleaned, sliced, rinsed and drained
- 1 Potato peeled and finely chopped
- 1 Onion finely chopped
- 1 Brinjal finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Black gram
- 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
- ½ teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 75 ml cooking oil
- 1 small ripe banana peeled and chopped
- 350 ml Thick coconut milk
- 6 Green chillies finely chopped
- Few Curry leaves
- Salt to taste
