FRIED FISH CURRY

Preparation Method :

  • Marinate the fish with the lemon juice, mustard powder, chilli powder and salt for about an hour or two.
  • Drain and coat the fish pieces with flour. Fry in hot oil until golden brown on both sides.
  • Melt the butter in a pan, add the onion, chillies, ginger, garlic and fry till golden brown.
  • Stir in the coconut milk and curry powder, bring to a boil, stirring often.
  • Add the fried fish pieces. Cook, uncovered for about 3-5 minutes. Serve hot with steamed rice.

INGREDIENTS

  • 750 grams firm white fish, cleaned, deboned, cut into medium pieces and rinsed
  • 220 ml Coconut milk
  • 150 grams Onion finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • 1½ teaspoon Curry powder    
  • 1½ teaspoon Lemon juice    
  • ½ teaspoon Mustard seeds powdered    
  • 1 teaspoon Chilli powder
  • 4 Green chillies finely chopped
  • ½ " piece Ginger finely chopped
  • 2-3 cloves Garlic minced        
  • Flour to coat    
  • Cooking oil to fry
  • Salt to taste
