Preparation Method :
- Heat the oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds. When the seeds stop crackling, add the onions and chillies. Fry till the onions are well-browned.
- Add the tomatoes, powdered spices and fry for a minute or two. Then add the fish pieces, ground masala paste and 2 cups of water along with vinegar and salt. Stir well.
- Cook till the fish is well done. Serve hot with rice or rotis.
INGREDIENTS
- 750 grams Sea-fish, cleaned, sliced, rinsed and drained
- 150 grams Onions, chopped
- 100 grams tomatoes, choppes
- 50 ml cooking oil
- 2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 1½ tablespoon Vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Chilli powder
- ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 4-6 Green chillies, slit lengthwise
- Salt to taste
Grind to a fine paste
- 1 Onion chopped
- 2 tablespoon Coriander seeds, roasted
- 1 tablespoon Cumin seeds, roasted
- 6 cloves Garlic
- 6-8 Peppercorns, roasted
