PROUD TO BE BRITISH BEEF SALAD

This delicious and one the most crave dish is made by Scottish rump or sirloin joint of beef, salt and freshly ground black pepper, lime juice, nam pla (Thailand fish sauce), clear honey, washed trimmed and sliced, cucumber, peeled and sliced into chunks, tomatoes cut into wedges and a teaspoons finely chopped fresh mint assorted salad leaves. You can add decorations to make this dish more presentable and more crave.

Preparation Time :
15 minutes

Cooking Time :
15 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Season the beef with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  • Grill or pan-fry for 5 minutes on each side.
  • Allow to rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly across the grain.
  • Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine the lime juice, fish sauce and honey.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes over a medium heat, then add all the remaining ingredients except the salad leaves.
  • Fold in the beef and mix well.
  • Taste and season.
  • Serve on dressed salad leaves.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams Scottish rump or sirloin joint of beef
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice 
  • 2 tablespoons nam pla (Thai fish sauce) 
  • 2 teaspoons clear honey 
  • 4 spring onions, washed, trimmed and sliced
  • 1 cucumber, peeled and sliced into 2.5cm chunks 
  • 4 tomatoes, cut into wedges 
  • 4 teaspoons finely chopped fresh mint assorted salad leaves
