YELLOW RICE

30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Bring the water to the boil.
  • Meanwhile, heat the ghee in a pressure cooker; add cloves and cinnamon stick. Once they crackle, add the rice. Saute for a few seconds, add boiling water, turmeric powder, and salt.
  • Pressure cook over high heat till 2 whistles. Remove the rice once the pressure subsides.
  • Serve hot accompanied with kadhi.

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 300 grams Basmati Rice, washed, soaked for 45 minutes, drained
  • 1½ tablespoon Ghee
  • 5 Cloves
  • 1 Cinnamon, 1½ " stick
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric (haldi) powder
  • Salt to taste
