SABOO DANA KHICHIDI

Preparation Method :

  • Separate the sago for any lumps and sprinkle water to loosen the sago and, if required, break the crumbs.
  • In a bowl, add peanuts, coconut, cumin seeds, sugar, rock salt, and lemon juice. Mix well and keep aside.
  • Heat the oil in a separate pan; stir-fry the potatoes till they become tender.
  • Add the peanut mixture and cook for a few minutes. Add green chillies and continue to stir-fry for a while.
  • Mix in the sago and cook covered for 5 minutes over very low heat with intermittent stirring. Remove from heat the moment the sago turns soft and transparent.
  • Add green coriander and mix well.
  • Serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 400 grams Sago (saboo dana), washed, drained
  • 280 grams Peanuts, roasted, crushed
  • 2 tablespoon Coconut, fresh, grated
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • ½ teaspoon Sugar
  • Black rock salt to taste
  • 10 ml Lemon juice
  • 1½ tablespoon IDHAYAM Sesame oil
  • 2 Potatoes, finely chopped
  • 5 Green chillies, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoon Green coriander, chopped
