BROWN CINNAMON RICE

Preparation Time :
20 minutes

Cooking Time :
30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a heavy-bottomed pan; add the cinnamon stick and sugar. Stir continuously, on low heat, till the sugar caramelizes.
  • Add water and salt. Bring the mixture to the boil. Now add the rice and cook covered, on low heat, for about 20 minutes.
  • Serve hot garnished with fried onions.

 

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 400 grams Rice, Basmati, washed, soaked for 30 minutes  
  • 1 tablespoon IDHAYAM sesame oil
  • 1 Cinnamon, 1" stick
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Onions, sliced, fried
