POTATO IN TOMATO GRAVY

Preparation Time :
20 minutes

Cooking Time :
30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Peel and cut potatoes into 4 pieces each. Finely chop onion.
  • Chop tomatoes and grind into a smooth paste.
  • Preheat oil in a small pressure cooker over high heat. Add cumin seeds.
  • Add onion and fry for 3 minutes. Add potato and fry for another 5 minutes.
  • Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garlic paste and salt. Fry for 5 minutes over medium heat. Add tomato paste and fry for 2 minutes over high heat. Add water and garam Masala.
  • Cover the lid of the pressure cooker and cook over high heat till 1 whistle.

  • 8 potatoes
  • 2 onions
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 5 tablespoons mustard oil 
  • 2 teaspoon cumin seed
  • 2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder 
  • 2 teaspoon garlic paste
  • Salt to taste
  • Water
  • 2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 300 grams chopped coriander leaves
