POTATO FISH

Preparation Method :

  • Peel and cut potatoes into 2 pieces each.
  • Chop onion and tomatoes and grind into a smooth paste.
  • Clean the fish and add turmeric powder, red chili powder, garlic paste and salt to taste. Add potatoes. Mix well.
  • Preheat oil in a large frying pan over high heat. Fry fish pieces 4 at a time till golden brown.
  • In the remaining oil fry potatoes 4 pieces at a time, till they get golden brown.
  • Add black mustard seeds, dry red chilies and bay leaves to the remaining oil. After a minute add onion and tomato paste, remaining turmeric powder, red chili powder, garlic paste and mustard paste / powder
  • Fry till fat leaves the sides. Add water and salt and cover and cook potatoes till they get tender.
  • Add fish and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from fire. Garnish with coriander leaves.

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 medium sized potatoes 
  • 2 onions
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 500 grams fish cut into 8 pieces
  • 2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 3 teaspoons garlic paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 500 ml mustard oil
  • 1 teaspoon black mustard seeds 
  • 3 dry red chilies
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 2 tablespoon mustard pastel powder
  • 500 ml hot water
  • 200 grams chopped coriander leaves
