POTATO BUTTER MASALA

Preparation Method :

  • Peel the potatoes.
  • Preheat butter in a heavy bottomed, medium sized pan over high heat.
  • Add black cardamoms and cloves. After a minute add onion and fry for 3 minutes.
  • Add tomato and garlic paste. Fry for 5 minutes.
  • Add water, salt and red chili powder and potatoes. Cover and simmer till all the water dries up.
  • Add coconut, cashew nut paste and water. Cover and simmer till water almost dries up.
  • Add water and cook over medium heat till the potatoes get tender.
  • Add garam masala and remaining butter. Add more water if more gravy is required.

INGREDIENTS

  • 15 small sized potatoes 
  • 10 tablespoons butter
  • 4 black cardamoms 
  • 10 cloves
  • 4 chopped onions
  • 5 finely chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoon garlic paste
  • 1 liter water
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 200 grams grated coconut 
  • 4 tablespoons cashew nut paste
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
