- Peel and cut potatoes into 2 pieces each.
- Chop onion, tomatoes, garlic and grind into a smooth paste using a little water.
- Preheat oil in a medium pressure cooker. Fry the potatoes over medium heat till they turn golden brown.
- Transfer the potatoes to a plate.
- In the remaining oil add cumin seeds, cardamom, bay leaves, red chilies and cinnamon.
- After a minute, add the ground paste, ginger, turmeric powder, coriander powder and red chili powder and fry rill fat starts leaving the sides.
- Add fried potatoes and salt. Fry over medium heat for 3 minutes. Add water and close the lid of the pressure cooker. Cook till 1 whistle. Garnish with coriander leaves.

- 2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 4 black cardamoms
- 4 bay leaves
- 4 red chilies
- 4 sticks cinnamon
- 4 tablespoons grated ginger
- 2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 tablespoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 500 ml water
- 3 teaspoon garam masala
- 200 grams chopped coriander leaves
