POTATO PULAO

Preparation Time :
20 minutes

Cooking Time :
30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Peel and cut potatoes into 4 pieces each. Chop onion into very thin roundels and slit green chilies.
  • Preheat oil in a medium pressure cooker over high heat. Add cumin seeds, black cardamoms and bay leaves.
  • After half a minute add onion and fry till golden brown. Add potatoes and green chilies.
  • After 2 minutes add rice, salt and turmeric powder. Fry over medium heat for 5 minutes.
  • Add water and garam masala and cook over high heat till 1 whistle.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 potatoes
  • 2 onions
  • 4 green chilies
  • 5 tablespoons peanut oil
  • 2 tablespoon cumin seeds
  • 4 black cardamoms
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 600 grams rice
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder 
  • 1 liter water
  • 2 teaspoon garam masala
