JAPANESE POTATO CROQUETTES

Preparation Time :
15 minutes

Cooking Time :
20 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Heat 25 ml of oil and saute minced onion with beef. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • Remove from heat and set aside. When cool, mix well with mashed potatoes and half of the beaten egg.
  • Divide potato mixture into equal portions. Coat each croquette with flour, followed by remaining beaten egg and breadcrumbs.
  • Heat oil in a pan and deep-fry croquettes until golden brown. Drain well. Serve with lemon wedges and shredded cabbage.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 unpeeled potatoes, rinsed, cooked, drained, peeled and mashed    
  • 150 grams minced beef
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten in separate bowls
  • 75 grams plain flour
  • 125 grams dried breadcrumbs
  • 1 brown onion, peeled and minced
  • 1 lemon, cut into 8 wedges
  • IDHAYAM MANTRA peanut oil for deep-frying
  • 4 leaves of cabbage, finely shredded
  • Ground black pepper and salt to taste
