STIR - FRIED PORK

Preparation Method :

  • Cut the pork into paper-thin slices. Combine the ginger, garlic crushed with salt and five-spice powder.
  • Rub over cover and set aside for 10 minutes. Prepare the vegetables. Cut the onion wedges crossways and separate into layers.
  • Have all ingredients assembled within reach of where you will be cooking. Combine the soy sauce with water, corn flour and sesame oil.
  • Heat the wok, add oil and, when the oil is very hot, fry the onion for 1 minute.
  • Remove to a plate at once. Add the remaining tablespoon of oil and when hot add the pork and stir-fry, tossing and stirring constantly, until it is no longer pink about 4 minutes depending on the cook top.
  • Stir the soy sauce mixture as corn flour will have settled, and pour into wok.
  • Stir constantly until the sauce boils and thickens return the vegetables and toss for 10 seconds to combine.
  • Serve immediately with steamed rice.

INGREDIENTS

  • 375 grams pork fillet
  • 2 medium onions cut into 4 wedges
  • 1 teaspoon finely grated fresh ginger
  • 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 1 clove garlic    
  • 2 teaspoons corn flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons oriental sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon five-spice powder    
  • 2 tablespoons peanut oil
