BRAISED PORK WITH CARROTS

Serves :

Preparation Time :
45 minutes

Cooking Time :
30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Mix together the garlic, sherry and 6 tablespoons of the soy sauce.
  • Add the pork strips and toss to coat well. Leave to marinate for at least 20 minutes, and then stir in the flour.
  • Heat the oil in a pan. Add the onion and meat mixture and stir-fry until the meat is browned.
  • Add the remaining soy sauce, the sugar and just enough water to cover the meat. Bring to the boil.
  • Add the carrots and simmer for 20 minutes or until the meat is tender.
  • Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley, with plain boiled rice. 

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 tablespoon dry sherry 
  • 8 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1kilo gram pork fillet, cut into strips
  • 4 tablespoons plain flour
  • 4 tablespoons oil
  • 2 onions cut into 8 sections
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 carrots cut into chunks chopped parsley to garnish
