PENNE WITH PROSCIUTTO

Preparation Method :

  • Peel onion and chop it finely.
  • Crush tomatoes while still in the can.
  • Heat oil in medium heavy-based frying pan. Add prosciutto and onion ,stir occasionally, cook over low heat for 5 minutes or until golden.
  • Add rosemary, undrained tomatoes, salt and pepper; simmer for 10- 12 minutes.
  • While sauce is cooking, add pasta to a large pan of rapidly boiling water and cook until just tender.
  • Drain and Divide pasta between warmed serving bowls and top with sauce. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and serve immediately.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 medium onion
  • 850 grams can tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • 6 thin slices prosciutto (approximately 75 grams), chopped
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 500 grams penne or macaroni
  • 100 grams freshly grated parmesan
  • Cheese, for serving
