WHOLE MEAL LASAGNE

Preparation Method :

  • Cook the lasagne in boiling water, to which a few drops of oil have been added, for 10 to 20 minutes or until just tender. Drain on a clean tea towel. Preheat the oven to moderate.
  • Spread one-quarter of the fresh tomato sauce over the bottom of a greased deep ovenproof dish. Cover with one-third of the lasagne, then one- third of the soft cheese.
  • Sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese. Repeat the layers twice, and then spoon over the remaining sauce.
  • To make the white sauce, melt the margarine in a pan, stir in the flour and cook for 2 minutes. Gradually stir in the milk and simmer until thickened. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg then pour over the lasagne.
  • Sprinkle over the remaining Parmesan cheese. Cook in the oven for 30 to 35 minutes until lightly browned and hot.
  • Serve Hot. 

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams whole meal lasagne
  • Few drops of Cooking oil
  • 1 liter fresh tomato sauce 
  • 500 grams Ricotta, curd or sieved cottage cheese
  • 100 grams Parmesan cheese 

Sauce

  • 50 grams margarine 
  • 4 tablespoons plain whole meal flour 
  • 300 ml hot skimmed milk 
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Pinch of grated nutmeg
