Preparation Method :
- Heat the oil in a large pan and gently fry the bacon, onion, celery and mushrooms until soft.
- Push vegetables to the side of the pan and add beef and chicken livers and continue cooking until the meat is brown.
- Stir in the tomato puree (paste), wine and stock, basil, sugar, and nutmeg and salt and pepper to taste.
- Bring to the boil, stirring, then cover the pan, reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes.
