PASTA BAKE WITH SPINACH AND HAM

Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a saucepan. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté for 3 minutes.
  • Add the spinach and mix well. Cook for 2 minutes over a moderate heat, just so that the spinach starts to wilt.
  • Add nutmeg, to taste and season with salt and pepper.
  • Lightly oil a large, shallow baking dish. Place a layer of lasagna at the bottom, followed by a layer of the spinach mixture, a layer of ham, then a layer of mozzarella.
  • Repeat until all the ingredients are used up, finishing with a layer of lasagna and the grated fontina cheese.
  • Place at the top of a preheated oven, 400oF, and bake for 15 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 tablespoons Cooking oil, plus extra for oiling 
  • 2 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic clove, crushed and chopped
  • 750 grams fresh spinach, washed and chopped
  • Pinch of grated nutmeg
  • 15 sheets of fresh lasagna
  • 500 grams ham, chopped into large chunks
  • 300 grams buffalo mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced
  • 300 grams grated fontina cheese
  • Salt and pepper
