THE JACKET BAKED POTATO SNACK

Preparation Time :
15 minutes

Cooking Time :
20 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Wash potato under cold running water and remove any 'eyes'. Pat dry and using a sharp knife score around the circumference of potato.
  • Place potato on edge of turntable and cook on HIGH (100%) for 3 minutes, turn potato over, then cook for 2 minutes longer.
  • Cut potato in half through the score mark and top with topping of your choice.
  • For Classic Topping: Top potato halves with sour cream and sprinkle with bacon and chives or spring onions.
  • For Mexican Topping: Top potato halves with butter, salsa or taco sauce and cheese and cook for 1 minute longer.
  • For Italian Topping: Sprinkle potato halves with oil, then top with pasta sauce and Parmesan cheese and cook for 1 minute longer.
  • For American Topping: Top potato hakes with butter, Sweet corn and cheese and cook for 1 minute longer.
  • For Seafood Topping: Top potato halves with tuna and cook on MEDIUM (50%) for 1 minute, then top with sour cream, red and black caviar or lumpfish roe, chives, spring onions and parsley.

INGREDIENTS

  • 200 grams red-skinned potatoes

CLASSIC TOPPING

  • 2 tablespoons sour cream 
  • Chopped fried bacon
  • Snipped fresh chives or thinly sliced
  • Spring onions

MEXICAN TOPPING

  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons bottled tomato salsa or taco sauce
  • 50 grams grated tasty cheese (Mature Cheddar)

ITALIAN TOPPING

  • 2 teaspoons Cooking oil
  • 2 tablespoons Napolitano or similar tomato pasta sauce
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese

AMERICAN TOPPING

  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 125 grams canned creamed sweet corn
  • 25 grams grated tasty cheese (Mature Cheddar)

SEAFOOD TOPPING

  • 100 grams canned tuna in oil, drained and flaked
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon red caviar or lumpfish roe
  • 1 tablespoon black caviar or lumpfish roe
  • Snipped fresh chives
  • Finely chopped spring onions
  • Chopped fresh parsley
