OKRA WITH CABBAGE

Okra with Cabbage is such a simple dish; however, it is freshly made from the microwave! You better try preparing it your own! Stop on a shop where you can get all ingredients needed like okra, onion, groundnut oil and cabbage or spring greens!

Preparation Time :
15 minutes

Cooking Time :
15 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Pour the oil into a 9 cups Dutch oven. Stir in the greens and okra with all the ingredients. Mix well.
  • Cover with clingfilm and slit it to allow steam to escape. Cook on Full for 6 minutes.
  • Allow to stand for 5 minutes. Cook on Full for a further 5 minutes. Drain and serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tablespoons groundnut oil
  • 500 grams Savoy cabbage or spring greens , finely shredded
  • 200 grams okra, topped, tailed and cut into chunks
  • 1 onion, grated
  • 250 ml boiling water
  • 3 tablespoons pine nuts, lightly toasted under the grill (broiler)
  • Salt and chilli powder to taste
