- Put the macaroni in a deep dish. Stir in the salt and sufficient boiling water above the level of the pasta.
- Cook, uncovered, on Full for 8 minutes until just tender, stirring 2 times. Stand for 4 minutes inside the microwave.
- Drain, then leave to stand while preparing the sauce. Melt the butter or margarine, uncovered, on Defrost for 2 minutes.
- Stir in the- flour, then gradually blend in the milk- Cook, uncovered, on Full for 6 minutes until smoothly thickened, whisking every minute.
- Mix in half of the cheese with the mustard and seasoning, then the macaroni Spread evenly in a dish.
- Place a layer of tomato slices on top of the pasta
- Sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Reheat, uncovered, on Full for 4 minutes before serving.
