DHAL WITH ONIONS AND TOMATOES
Dhal with Onions and Tomatoes is splendidly made with its luscious ingredients like turmeric, tomato puree, paprika, margarine, onion, cayenne pepper, salt, cardamom pods, garlic and onions! This is such a tempting and over empowering dish that can satisfy your mouth and stomach!

Preparation Method :
- Put the ghee, butter or margarine in a 6 cup casserole dish. Heat, uncovered, on Full for 2 minutes.
- Mix in the chopped onions and garlic. Cover and cook on Full for 4 minutes.
- Stir in all the remaining ingredients. Cover with a plate and cook on Full for 16 minutes, stirring for about 3 times. Allow to stand for 4 minutes.
- Thin down with a little extra boiling water, If too thick.
- Fry the onion rings separately in the oil until lightly golden and crisp.
- Fluff up the dhal with a fork before serving garnished with the onion rings.
INGREDIENTS
- Thinly slice 1 onion
- 2 onions, chopped
- 50 grams ghee
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 250 grams lentils, rinsed
- 3 tomatoes, blanched, skinned and chopped
- Seeds from 4 green cardamom pods
- 1 tablespoon tomato puree
- 750 ml boiling water
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- 4 teaspoons garam masala
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt to taste
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 3 teaspoons Cooking oil
