FRENCH-STYLE DUCK
If you prefer cooking in the microwave, you can try to prepare for French-Style Duck that is simply a delectable and palatable dish. Cooking this dish would only last for about 45 minutes. While it’s still set on fire, also spend some time talking with your family!

- Stand the duck upside-down on upturned tea plate standing in Dutch oven.
- Scatter the prunes, celery and garlic around the duck. Cover the dish with clingfilm (plastic wrap) and slit it twice to allow steam escape.
- Cook on Full for 20 minutes. Uncover and carefully pour off and reserve the fat and juices. Turn duck over.
- Cover as before and cook on Full for 20 minutes. Cut into 4 portions, transfer to a serving dish and keep hot. Skim the fat from the cooking juices.
- To make the sauce, place the cider in a measuring jug.
- Whisk in the tomato puree, crème fraiche, the skimmed cooking juices and cornflour. Cook, uncovered, on Full for 5 minutes until thickened and bubbling whisking every minute.
- Pour over the duck and prunes and accompany with tagliatelle.

- 2 kgs duck,washed and dried
- 10 - 12 stoned (pitted) prunes
- 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
For the sauce
- 300 ml dry cider
- Salt to taste
- 2 teaspoons tomato puree
- 2 tablespoons crème fraiche
- 1 tablespoon corn flour
- Boiled tagliatelle (Ribbon Pasta), to serve
