CHOCOLATE SPONGE PUDDING

Preparation Method :

  • Thoroughly grease a 3 cups pudding basin. Sift the flour and cocoa into a bowl and toss in the sugar. Finely rub in the butter.
  • Beat together the egg, milk and vanilla essence, then stir with a fork into the flour mixture.
  • Spoon into the prepared basin. Cook, uncovered, on Full for 2 minutes. Allow to stand for 1 minute.
  • Cook on Full for a further 30 seconds or until the pudding is well risen and spongy-looking.
  • Allow to stand for 30 seconds. Turn out on to a plate and eat with cream or ice cream.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons light soft brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 50 grams self-raising  flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons cold milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla essence  
  • Cream or ice cream, to serve
