MULLED PEACHES

Preparation Method :

  • Put the sugar and water in a 10 cup dish and stir well. Cover and cook on Full for 6 - 8 minutes to make a syrup.
  • Cut the peaches into chunks. Add to the syrup with the remaining ingredients.
  • Cover with clingfilm (plastic wrap) and slit it twice to allow steam to escape. Cook on Full for 5 minutes, turning the dish 2 times.
  • Allow to stand for 5 minutes before spooning into dishes and eating with crisp, buttery biscuits.

INGREDIENTS

  • 250 grams castor sugar
  • 150 ml cold water
  • 9 large halved and stoned (pitted) peaches
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 2 in piece cinnamon stick
  • ¼ teaspoon grated nutmeg
  • 3 tablespoons medium-dry sherry
  • 1 tablespoon orange liqueur
  • Biscuits, to serve
