WALNUT CAKE

Being more knowledgeable on how to create a perfect cake is not so hard. With walnut cake, you can easily prepare a perfect recipe for your family and friends. You can also use this to serve in a special gatherings and events.

6 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Line the bases and sides of two shallow dishes with clingfilm , allowing it to hang very slightly over the edge.
  • Cream together the butter or margarine, flour, vanilla essence and sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy and the consistency of whipped cream.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, adding 1 tablespoon flour with each.
  • Use a large spoon, fold in the walnuts with the remaining flour alternately with the milk.
  • Spread equally into the prepared dishes. Cover loosely with kitchen paper.
  • Cook one at a time on Full for 6 minutes. Allow to cool to lukewarm, then invert on to a wire rack.
  • Peel away the clingfilm and leave until completely cold. Sandwich together with half the icing (frosting) and top the cake with the remainder.
  • Arrange a border of walnut halves on the top of the cake to decorate.

INGREDIENTS

  • 150 grams castor  sugar    
  • 150 grams self-raising flour, Sift the flour
  • 150 grams butter or margarine
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 3 eggs, at kitchen temperature
  • 50 grams walnuts, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons cold milk
  • 2 quantities Butter Cream Icing
  • 16 walnut halves, to decorate
