PRESERVED GINGER CAKE WITH ORANGE

Surprise your family and friends through preparing preserved ginger cake with orange. This recipe is extremely unique and totally covers appetizing taste. With its perfect taste, you will surely ask for more bites and it will truly marks to all eaters.

Preparation Method :

  • Closely line a straight-sided dish with clingfilm , allowing it to hang very slightly over the edge.
  • Sift the flour and spice into a bowl. Finely rub in the butter or margarine. Fork in the sugar and ginger, making sure they are evenly distributed.
  • Stir to a soft consistency with the orange peel, eggs and milk. When smoothly combined, spoon into the prepared dish and cover lightly with kitchen paper.
  • Cook on Full for 6 minutes until the cake is well risen and beginning to shrink away from the side. Allow to stand for 10 - 15 minutes.
  • Transfer to a wire rack by holding the clingfilm. Peel away the wrap when cold and store the cake in an airtight container. Dust with icing sugar before serving.

INGREDIENTS

  • 250 grams self-raising(self-rising) flour
  • 2 teaspoons mixed spice
  • 150 grams butter or margarine
  • 125 grams light soft brown sugar
  • coarsely grated peel of 1 small orange
  • 100 grams chopped preserved ginger in syrup
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 75 grams cold milk Icing sugar, for dusting
