HONEY CAKE WITH NUTS

Making a perfect cake for your friends and family is extremely fast and easy. With honey cake with nuts, you can completely enjoy your dessert. Preparing this recipe only requires an ample time for setting up its ingredients and need 20 minutes for its baking procedures.

Preparation Method :

  • To make the base, closely line the base and side of a soufflé dish with plastic wrap, allowing it to hang very slightly over the edge.
  • Put all the ingredients except the almonds in a food processor bowl and run the Machine until smooth and evenly combined.
  • Pulse in the almonds briefly to stop them breaking up too much. Spread the mixture into the prepared dish and cover lightly with kitchen paper.
  • Cook on Full for 8 - 10 minutes, turning the dish twice, until the top of the cake is peppered with small air pockets.
  • Allow to stand for 5 minutes, then invert into a shallow serving dish and peel away the clingfilm.
  • To make the syrup, place all the ingredients in a jug and cook, uncovered, on Full for 6 minutes or until the mixture just begins to bubble.
  • Allow to stand for 4 minutes, then gently stir round with a wooden spoon to mix the ingredients smoothly.
  • Spoon slowly over the cake until all the liquid is absorbed.
  • Combine the nuts and honey in small dish. Warm through, uncovered, on Full for 2 minutes. Spread or spoon over the top of the cake.

  • 150 grams light soft brown sugar
  • 4 eggs, at kitchen temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 75 grams cornflour
  • 100 grams flaked almonds   
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 100 grams butter
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 75 grams all-purpose flour
  • 200 ml warm water
  • 5 tablespoons dark soft brown sugar
  • 3 in piece cinnamon stick
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 150 grams clear dark honey
  • 5 tablespoons chopped mixed nuts
  • 2 tablespoons clear dark honey
