DOUBLE CHOCOLATE CAKE

The double chocolate cake can completely alter your food preferences. You can instantly prepare this recipe through completing its ingredients and understanding its accurate baking procedures. This unique and mouth-watering cake appears more tempting because of its perfect aroma and taste.

Preparation Method :

  • Closely line the base and sides of a soufflé dish with cling film , allowing it to hang slightly over the edge.
  • Mix the cocoa smoothly with the boiling water. Cream together the butter or margarine, sugar and vanilla essence until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, adding 1 tablespoon flour with each one. Fold in the remaining flour with the black treacle until evenly combined.
  • Spread smoothly into the prepared dish and cover loosely with kitchen paper. Cook on Full for 6 minutes until the cake is well risen and no longer damp- looking on top.
  • Allow to stand for 5 minutes, then ease the cake out of its dish by holding the clingfilm and transfer to a wire rack.
  • Gently peel away the wrap and leave to cool. Cut the cake horizontally into three layers and sandwich together with the icing.
  • Add the melted and cooled plain chocolate to the Butter Cream Icing. Allow to firm up before using.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 4 tablespoons boiling water
  • 150 grams butter or margarine
  • 150 grams dark soft brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence  
  • 3 eggs
  • 100 grams melted and cooled plain chocolate
  • 175 grams self-raising flour
  • 1 tablespoon black treacle (molasses)
  • Butter Cream Icing  
  • Icing  sugar, for dusting
